== Life ==

Morris Bublick was born on January 23, 1919 in Chicago, Illinois to Russian-Jewish immigrants Joseph and Esther Bublick (née Agresbaum). He had a younger brother, Max, and a younger sister, Rosalyn. His father founded a clothing store in Chicago called "Smoky Joe's". The store became very successful, and Morris worked at the store as a salesman while studying law at the University of Chicago. Many of the stores customer's raved about Morris's clothing designs, and Morris began to realize his passion for clothing design. He dropped out of the University of Chicago and began running Smoky Joe's with his father and brother.
Smoky Joe's was so successful that the Bublick family opened two more stores in the Chicago area. It was soon a major style center in Chicago, attracting many musicians such as Smokey Robinson, the Jackson 5, James Brown and Sammy Davis Jr., who were all frequent customers. Over the years, many designers contacted Morris to ask him about his vision, and he became very well respected in the men's fashion industry. He often smoked a tobacco pipe or cigar.
Morris married his wife Shirley in 1937 and they had four daughters: Janice, Lonnie, Robin and Wendy. They resided in Chicago, and Morris and his wife moved to Maitland, Florida in his later years. He has 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Morris died on October 14, 1992 in Maitland, Florida.
